How long does a Shopify migration actually take?
Most migrations take 3 to 6 weeks. Stores with under 500 SKUs migrate in 3 weeks. 500–5K SKUs takes 4 weeks. Larger stores or Shopify Plus deployments take 6 weeks or more. We give you a fixed timeline upfront — no estimates that drift.
Will we lose our SEO rankings?
No — if it's done right. We map every old URL to a new Shopify URL with 301 redirects, preserve metadata, migrate your sitemap, and keep your robots.txt rules. Most clients see rankings recover within 4–6 weeks. We've never lost rankings on a migration. That's not marketing — it's because we treat SEO preservation as the #1 deliverable, not an afterthought.
Will my store go down during migration?
No. We build the new Shopify store on staging while your current store keeps running. On launch day, DNS switches over in under 5 minutes. Customers never see downtime.
What about my apps and integrations?
We audit every app on your current store and either find the Shopify equivalent or build a replacement. Klaviyo, Recharge, Yotpo, Bold — all common stacks transfer cleanly. Anything custom, we rebuild on Shopify.
How is the price determined?
Three factors: SKU count, theme complexity, and app dependencies. We send a fixed quote within 24 hours of you submitting your store URL — no estimates, no hourly billing, no scope creep.
What if my data is messy?
Most data is messy. We clean it. Duplicate products, broken SKUs, missing categories — our AI-assisted scripts surface these in week 1 so you can decide what to keep, fix, or kill before launch.
Can you migrate during BFCM season?
Yes, but we don't recommend it. We can finish a migration in 3 weeks pre-BFCM, but launching new tech the week of BFCM is risky. We'll either start October at the latest or wait until December 1.
What happens to payment gateways and saved customer cards?
Shopify Payments and your existing gateways migrate cleanly. Saved customer payment methods do NOT transfer (PCI compliance) — customers re-enter card details on first purchase post-migration. We send a pre-launch email explaining this so customers aren't surprised.
What if something breaks after launch?
Every migration includes 30 days of post-launch optimization. Bugs, speed issues, conversion fixes — all included. After 30 days, we offer ongoing retainers starting at $1,500/month or hourly support.
