Why people trust us with migrations.
We've done this hundreds of times, across nine source platforms, for stores of every size.

Self-hosting is a full-time job
PrestaShop is free but requires VPS hosting, security patches, performance tuning, and PHP / MySQL expertise. The total cost of ownership is usually higher than Shopify's subscription.
Module conflicts and version compatibility
PrestaShop modules from different developers often conflict. Upgrading PrestaShop versions (1.6 → 1.7 → 8) breaks modules. Shopify rolls out updates that don't break apps.
EU regulatory complexity
GDPR, VAT-MOSS, cookie laws, distance selling regs — Shopify handles all of this natively or through certified apps. PrestaShop you cobble together with 5 modules and hope nothing conflicts.
Speed and infrastructure pain
PrestaShop on cheap shared hosting is slow. PrestaShop on quality hosting (€200+/mo) is fast but expensive. Shopify's native CDN delivers fast page loads without the hosting decisions.
What we handle in a PrestaShop → Shopify migration.
Multi-language and multi-currency
PrestaShop's native multi-language store migrates to Shopify Markets (multi-currency, multi-language). All translations preserved.
Product features and attributes
PrestaShop features (color, size, material), attributes, and attribute groups all map to Shopify variants and metafields. Combinations preserved.
Customer groups and tier pricing
Customer groups (B2C, B2B, wholesale) and group-specific pricing migrate to Shopify Plus B2B catalogs or our Volume Boost app for standard Shopify.
GDPR-compliant data migration
Customer data migrated with full GDPR audit trail. Consent records preserved. Right-to-be-forgotten requests honored. EU data residency options available on Shopify.
Tax rules (VAT-MOSS, regional rates)
Complex EU tax rules (VAT-MOSS, country-specific rates, B2B reverse charge) all rebuild in Shopify's native tax engine + apps like Avalara if needed.
PrestaShop URLs and 301 redirects
PrestaShop's URL rewrites — including category paths and product-id URLs — get mapped to Shopify with 301 redirects. SEO rankings preserved.

The 5 things PrestaShop merchants ask before migrating.
Does Shopify handle GDPR properly?
Yes. Shopify is GDPR-compliant out of the box: data processing agreements, EU data residency options (on Plus), built-in cookie consent (via free apps), customer data deletion APIs, and audit trails. Often easier to maintain compliance on Shopify than on self-hosted PrestaShop where you manage everything yourself.
Will Shopify handle VAT-MOSS and EU tax rules?
Yes. Shopify has native tax handling for EU VAT including VAT-MOSS rates by country, B2B reverse charge (with valid VAT number), and B2C tax-inclusive pricing. For complex multi-jurisdiction setups, we integrate Avalara or Vertex. EU merchants find Shopify's tax handling significantly simpler than PrestaShop's.
What about my PrestaShop modules?
We audit your module stack and find Shopify equivalents (almost always 3-5 options exist where PrestaShop had 1). Common mappings: PrestaShop reviews → Yotpo or Judge.me. PS Newsletter → Klaviyo. PS multistore → Shopify Markets. Anything custom we rebuild as a Shopify app.
What about my multi-shop setup?
PrestaShop's native multi-shop maps to either Shopify Markets (one store, multiple regional storefronts) or Shopify Plus expansion stores (separate stores sharing inventory). We help you pick based on whether your stores share catalog or not.
How long does a PrestaShop migration take?
Under 1K SKUs (single shop, no multi-language): 3-4 weeks. Multi-language or multi-shop: 4-6 weeks. Enterprise with B2B + 5K+ SKUs: 6-8 weeks. We give you a fixed timeline in your 24-hour migration plan based on your specific setup.
