Will my Squarespace SEO rankings transfer?
Yes, with proper 301 redirects. Squarespace uses /shop/ and /collection/ URLs by default; Shopify uses /products/ and /collections/. We map every URL, preserve metadata, and migrate sitemap. Rankings typically recover in 3-6 weeks. Squarespace migrations are usually the cleanest because the data is well-structured.
How long does a Squarespace migration take?
Most Squarespace migrations take 2-3 weeks because the data is cleaner than most platforms. Under 200 SKUs: 2 weeks. 200-1K SKUs: 3 weeks. The theme rebuild is usually the longest part since we're building from scratch in Liquid.
What about my Squarespace member areas or courses?
Squarespace Member Areas and Courses don't have direct Shopify equivalents — but they have better alternatives. We migrate Member Areas to BUCKETS or Locked apps. Courses move to LearnWorlds, Teachable, or Thinkific with Shopify product integration. Often the new setup is more flexible than what Squarespace offered.
Can I keep my Squarespace email subscribers?
Yes. Squarespace email subscribers export cleanly and import to Klaviyo, Shopify Email, or your preferred ESP. We handle the migration including segmentation, custom fields, and tags. Open rates and engagement history don't transfer (that's an ESP limitation, not Shopify's), but subscriber lists stay intact.
What's the cost difference between Squarespace and Shopify?
